One Riot – Latest Acquisition of Walmart

OneRiot has been acquired by Walmart.  It (OneRiot) is a network of advertising for social and realtime web.  Earlier OneRiot has been real time search engine and later came into operation of social and mobile advertising field.  One Riot through its services allow companies to reach right up to targeted and potential clients through mobile.  It got a huge network and data collection.  Availability of updated and retrievable database & technology pulled Walmart’s attention and thus they joined hands.

In 2009, OneRiot started its venture of advertising world with RiotWise.

Walmart was started in 1962 by Sam Walton and soon became the number one retail chain in the World and top Fortune 500 firm.  Walmart is a chain of departmental & warehouse stores in U.S.  It has 8,500 stores in around 15 countries and they are in operation with 55 diverse names.  In different countries stores are named differently.  Earlier Walmart had acquired Kosmix, also a social media startup.  It has designed Walmart’s online e-commerce websites and mobile aids, Facebook chapters and more.

Technology of OneRiot will attract customers through mobile and social shopping methods for Walmart Labs’.  OneRiot’s database during the operation of search engine comes to its help for entire acquisition process.  Developing e-commerce facility is also on the cards.

Within 30 days of the meeting of the official of Walmart and OneRiot the overall acquisition would be achieved.  And this venture will allow Walmart to reach target customers at very fast pace.  Existing and new technologies will be used with the help of this project, such as mobile ad campaigns to reach target audience.

Through this acquisition of assets of OneRiot enables them to deliver important ads through Twitter and Face-book.  According to OneRiot officials briefing, we (OneRiot) will be a part of Walmart and we will work with full force of technology startup.

Walmart with this acquisition would be able to sell its goods and products to a vast majority of consumers using OneRiots social genome and real network of real time advertising.  On purchasing the assets of OneRiot, Walmart would be able to attract huge response through the use of online as well as mobile advertisements.

The exact amount of acquisition is not known as this information has been kept undisclosed.  As per Walmart’s officials, OneRiot is an integral part of Walmart now and it will move to Silicon Valley.
